Next Round of Consular Consultations Between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Turkmenistan
On 20 November 2025, in Ashgabat, the next round of consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Turkmenistan took place.
During the consultations, the parties discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in the consular field between the two countries, including collaboration between law enforcement and justice bodies. Special attention was paid to migration issues, legal assistance in criminal cases, and the protection of citizens’ rights.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue constructive and effective cooperation in the future. It is noteworthy that the next round of consultations will be held in Tbilisi.
The Georgian delegation was headed by Giorgi Tabatadze, Director of the Directorate of International Legal, Consular, and Diaspora Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, while the Turkmen side was represented by Dowletmurat Muratov, Head of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The consultations were also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan, Konstantine Sabiashvili.
