Visit of the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, to Ashgabat

Within the framework of the working visit held in Ashgabat on September 25–27, 2026, Levan Ioseliani met with the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, Yazdursun Gurbannazarova. The Public Defender also held meetings with Maksat Kuliyev, Chairman of the Committee on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, and Ahmed Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meetings focused on deepening cooperation, protecting human rights, enhancing parliamentary partnership, and developing bilateral relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to sharing the experience of the Office of the Public Defender of Georgia and strengthening institutional cooperation.

As part of the visit, Levan Ioseliani, together with Konstantin Sabiashvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan, participated in the events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan.
