Introductory meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Konstantine Sabiashvili with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Batyr Annayev
On 21 May, 2026, an introductory meeting was held between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia, Konstantine Sabiashvili, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan responsible for Transport and Communications, Batyr Annayev.
At the outset of the meeting, Ambassador Konstantine Sabiashvili congratulated Batyr Annayev on his appointment and wished him success in his responsible duties.
During the meeting, the parties underscored the high level of traditionally close partnership and cooperation between Georgia and Turkmenistan and emphasized the importance of maintaining the positive dynamics of bilateral relations. Particular attention was paid to the development of regional connectivity and the importance of joint efforts in this regard.
Konstantine Sabiashvili briefed the Turkmen side on the large-scale infrastructure projects implemented and currently underway by the Government of Georgia. Particular attention was paid to the construction of the East–West Highway, railway modernization, and the strategic importance of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and the new international airport in Tbilisi in further strengthening connectivity.
