A reception dedicated to Georgia's Independence Day was held in Turkmenistan

An official reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia was held at the Embassy of Georgia to Turkmenistan, attended by Turkmen officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and invited guests.

The guests were addressed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Konstantine Sabiashvili, as well as the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Nazar Agahanov.

In his speech, the Ambassador highlighted the historic significance of the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion in Georgia.

Konstantine Sabiashvili spoke at length about Georgia's strategic role, focusing on the country's transportation, transit, and connectivity enhancement, as well as the development of digital technology. He paid special attention to the importance of the Middle Corridor and the strengthening of joint efforts in this direction. It was emphasized that establishing peace in the South Caucasus is an indispensable foundation for deepening regional connectivity.

The Ambassador highly praised the dynamic partnership with Turkmenistan and stressed the importance of maintaining high-level visits. Emphasis was placed on deepening trade and economic relations, as well as further revitalizing cultural and humanitarian ties.

During his address, the Ambassador expressed his special gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for its unwavering support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Guests also had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Georgian Qvevri—displayed at the Embassy-which stands as a profound symbol of Georgian identity and an 8,000-year-old unbroken winemaking tradition, and to taste authentic Georgian wine.
