The visit of the Ambassador of Georgia to the port city of Turkmenbashi

On April 12-13, 2023, Ambassador of Georgia, Konstantine Sabiashvili, visited the port city of Turkmenbashi on a working visit.

During the visit Ambassador held an introductory meeting with the management of the Turkmenbashi oil refinery complex, Deputy Director Tagaymirat Tagiev , where possible perspectives of cooperation were discussed.

Within the framework of the visit, the Ambassador had a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmenistan Sea and River Roads Agency, the Director of the International seaport "Turkmenbashi", Seytguli Baiseidov.

At the meetings, information about the ongoing regional infrastructure projects in Georgia was provided to Turkmen side. Ambassador spoke at large about the Anaklia deep-sea port, which has strategic importance not only for Georgia, but also for increasing the transit and transport potential of the region.

It was noted that the port of Turkmenbashi, as well as the ports of Georgia, are the main key connecting links of the of "Lapis Lazuli" and "Black Sea - Caspian Sea" transit corridors.

Ambassador emphasized the importance of the economic ties between the two countries and ways of effectively using the transit potential of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
