On May 7, 2026, the fifth session of the Georgia-Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held, co-chaired by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili.
During the session, the sides discussed opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation and further strengthening economic ties. It was noted that Georgia considers Turkmenistan a significant and reliable partner in the Central Asian region.
According to the Minister, thanks to its strategic location, Georgia serves as a gateway connecting Europe and Asia for Turkmenistan and a vital transit hub for the Central Asian region.
Mariam Kvrivishvili highlighted the country's macroeconomic indicators and noted that, despite global challenges, Georgia offers one of the most attractive investment environments in the world.
