Official visit of the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, to Turkmenistan
On September 1–2, 2026, Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Givi Mikanadze paid an official visit to Turkmenistan.
Within the framework of the visit, Givi Mikanadze participated in the opening ceremony of the Institute of State Architecture and Civil Engineering of Turkmenistan and held meetings with the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Mammedov.
The sides discussed strengthening cooperation in the fields of education and science, partnership between universities, joint projects, and the organization of youth camps. A bilateral working group was established, and its first meeting was held within the framework of the visit. The meeting was led by Zviad Gabisonia from the Georgian side and Azat Ataev from the Turkmen side.
The Georgian delegation laid a wreath at the monument to Shota Rustaveli in Ashgabat. The official events were also attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Turkmenistan, Konstantine Sabiashvili.
